COVID-19 / Policy Update - June 2020
June 2020
To my current and future clients:
I hope this finds you well! I’m reaching out to all my clients with an important update on the status and future of my private practice. Please review this policy change thoroughly.
Recent months have brought about many changes for us all, including myself and my family. As a result, we have come to the difficult decision to relocate away from the South Bay Area sometime in July (specifics pending). This means I will not be reopening my physical office in Los Gatos, but will continue providing services via distance therapy exclusively to any new or existing clients who would like to continue as we have since Shelter-In-Place took effect last March (so long as the client remains a California resident).
I completely understand that some clients may prefer to find a new therapist who will be able to meet with them face-to-face when health guidelines allow. If this describes you, please do not hesitate to reach out to me by phone, email, or in our next session to discuss a transition plan to a new provider.
For those clients content to continue working with me via Telehealth, you will experience virtually no change to your current services. As stated in my original practice policy notice, any clients who pursue reimbursement for out-of-network services from their insurance remain responsible for understanding the terms of your provider’s policies as this varies from plan to plan greatly.
I very much welcome any questions or comments, during or outside of our session time. Thank you for choosing me as your therapist, and the trust you have extended to me regarding your mental health treatment.
Sincerely,
Scott Haartman, MFT
